In addition to offering a portfolio indexed and designed by the robot, which is automatically rebalanced to counteract deviations from the risk profile of each client, they add two other -more expensive- services: a half-automatic, half-human portfolio, on which a committee of investment applies “tactical changes to achieve additional returns or avoid risks” and a series of portfolios designed according to different investment styles from which clients choose.

“Robo advisors are algorithms designed from decision trees and with a high degree of learning that carry out the complete process -search, selection, allocation, monitoring and rebalancing- to structure, without the intervention of people, the portfolio of a particular investor in function of the information provided by the client himself”, explain the authors of the report on new business models in financial advice recently published by the IEB.
