New Charts to Analyze Your Investments

At inbestMe we are convinced of one thing: investing with peace of mind starts with truly understanding what is happening to your money. That is why we have taken a step forward in your client area, with more views, more detail and a more comprehensive and analytical overview so that you have the best possible information about your investments.

We’ll show you this using an example portfolio, that of the José M. family: several account holders, six accounts and several goals. The figures and names are for illustrative purposes.

We’ve added a consolidated chart of your accounts and combined performance

As can be seen in the example of the José M. family, from now on, in addition to the total value of all the accounts and the capital gain (information that was already available), we have added a chart showing the evolution of the total (or a combination) of their portfolios, which includes as a new feature the combined cumulative return, in the example +85.5%, calculated using Time-Weighted Return (TWR).

The chart we have added displays by default the accumulated value since inception compared with the net amount contributed (dotted line), just like the one above and reproduced below on the upper left.

The other options are displayed by switching between the different options in the selector at the top right of the chart.

As shown in the example, different periods can be selected: All (by default), which shows the information since the account was opened (accumulating 85.5%), 1 year (top right), which shows what happened over the last year (+€269,858 +18.5%), 3 years (+€530,061 +44.4%), and so on for the different predefined periods.

We can also use the “Year” drop-down menu and select the different calendar years since the account has been available. In the example above, on the lower right, we can see the performance during 2026 up to 2 June (+€140,692 / +8.8%).

We’ve added a more comprehensive account holder/account selection and the chart and analysis change dynamically

We have improved the drop-down menu located at the top of the home page to select account holders and/or accounts, as shown above. This allows us to combine account holders and accounts as we wish, enabling us to analyse whichever combinations make sense for each client or family in this case.

For example, in the selection above, the family’s retirement accounts are selected, which have accumulated +85.6%.

By contrast, in this other selection, all the accounts intended for the family’s children are selected, which have accumulated a 65% gain.

Four different charts to view your investments

Everyone understands their money in their own way.

Let’s look at this in more detail below.

That is why each account or combination can now be viewed, by clicking on the selector shown below, located in the upper right corner, with four options: in euros, in percentage (this was already available at account level and is now added to the combined view) and, as a new feature, in a month-by-month table and in combined bars with the cumulative % by period. Choose the one that suits you best and switch between them with a click using these selectors, which do the job of switching between these 4 different views:

Choose the information you need and switch between them with a click using these selectors, which do the job of switching between these 4 different views:

Now you have the possibility to view the evolution of all your wealth (or whichever combination suits you) through these four complementary visualisations.

And we are taking another step forward in transparency: the consolidated view calculates your combined return (whether the total or that of a selection) using the Time-Weighted Return (TWR) methodology, the measure that tells the truth about how your money has performed because it isolates the effect of your contributions and withdrawals.

This total or combined return is a new metric that we have now added. Previously, we did not display it at the consolidated level. It is now available to you because we believe you deserve to measure your return across all its combinations, which can help you better plan your finances, especially if you use the option that inbestMe offers you to have multiple accounts.

In the example above, we have changed the account selection by focusing on the family’s “children”. We can see that although we have accumulated a lower return, this is simply because the starting period is shorter (2020) compared with the rest of the accounts. In the second chart, which shows cumulative return and CAGR, we can see that the latter is 7.6%, even higher than for the selection of all the accounts.

Would you like the fine detail? The table at the bottom left shows the return for each month and the total for each year, with positive and negative figures clearly distinguished and neatly aligned, making them easy to read at a glance. The table also shows the worst month, during Covid (-11.9%), and the best month, in the same year 2020, with +9%, reminding us how difficult it is to successfully time the market.

The table is fully visible on a desktop computer. On mobile, you have the option of scrolling to the right or, taking advantage of the native functionality, clicking the two arrows available in the App, which will display the table in landscape mode, as shown below.

Would you prefer to see the pulse year by year? The bar chart reflects the performance of each year together with the cumulative evolution, providing a very interesting view of the evolution from a more holistic perspective.

For example, by selecting the year 2025, we can clearly see the impact of the tariff war during the months of March and April, and how in the following months this effect recovered in a V-shape, ending the year with +12% for this combination of accounts: yet another demonstration of how impossible it is to pick the best moment in the market.

Four different charts also to analyse each account

These new chart options are also available for each account.

Within each account you can now also view, by clicking on the corresponding selector in the upper right corner, the four views.

At account level there is one difference in the table view, as shown above: within each account we display in the last column of the table the performance of the benchmark index for each year. In the example we can see the “International Mixed Equity” column.

We do not do this in the combined table because it would be impossible to determine the appropriate benchmark for every combination.

We’ve added the % return to the mobile account card

When an account selection is made in your client area, the accounts are filtered as shown below.

As can be seen in the mobile view, we have also added the cumulative return figure (TWR formula) to each account card so that you can compare accounts more easily with one another and with the consolidated portfolio or the selected combination.

In the desktop version, both figures continue to be displayed as always.

Above, we once again illustrate how the 3 chart options are displayed in portrait format, complementing the table view that we saw above in landscape format, now for the selection of 3 accounts belonging to the same family, in this case those focused on the retirement goal.

We are aware that the combined bar and line chart may be difficult to read when a large amount of information is displayed, and for this reason you can also activate the landscape version by clicking the two arrows on your mobile device in order to view it as shown in the image below.

More information for your financial planning

At inbestMe, we are not satisfied with simply managing your money well: we want to help you plan your entire financial life, whether by analysing it by goals or by accounts, or by whichever combination makes the most sense for you, so that you understand it and always have it at hand, even on your mobile phone.

All these new features are now available in your client area: log in and discover them in your own account or any combination of them.

These improvements complement other enhancements that we have recently published and give us confidence that we are on the right path, not only by offering an efficient way to invest, but also by continuously improving the information available to our clients and taking care of the user experience.
